Oakland & Frick Park Engagement Session: Mia & Chris

by Burgh Brides October 5, 2015

When you’re in love, it truly does radiate from the inside out.  You glow and you smile bigger than you ever have before.  Take Mia and Chris for example.  Just look at the how happy these two are!  Mia’s thousand watt grin is too cute and I love the way Chris looks at her.  Beth Insalaco did a great job capturing these two during their Frick Park/Mellon Institute engagement session.  Also, cute pup alert!

From the bride…

When and how did you two meet?
A million years ago working at Sam’s Club!

Juicy details on the proposal, please! Where, when, how?
I am a very hard person to surprise, so I anticipated it, especially after we planned a big trip to Mexico with his family.  On our second day there, Chris said he planned a special dinner for us on the beach and I immediately knew something was up!  During the dinner, the waiters made a big deal about removing the covers on the food before they served it to us and I was sure my ring would be under there.  It was not and I began to wonder if this was just a nice dinner and nothing more!  Afterward, we started walking along the beach and I noticed he kept kicking the sand around.  Finally, Chris just stopped me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him.  I don’t remember saying yes, and even though I knew it was going to happen, it was still a great surprise.  Unbeknownst to me, we had a huge audience that cheered when he got back up off his knee.  Later, I found out that our resort helped Chris by writing a message in a bottle that said, “Will you marry me” and asked him for the ring so they could put it in the bottle as well.  Thank GOD he did not because we never did find the bottle!  We often joke and wonder if some couple will find it walking on the beach someday!

Describe the engagement shoot.
I bought my dog (Deels) sweater first and just bought our clothes to match her, believe it or not!  I didn’t really have a vision… I knew that anything Beth produced would be amazing!

And it was!  Congrats Mia and Chris!  Your wedding this month is going to be as adorable as you two are!
