Black and white and sprinkled with greenery, Emily and Sean’s wedding at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is the epitome of modern rustic charm. The seasonal fall foliage made for one heck of a backdrop while the warmth of the colors set the scene for their outdoor wedding ceremony. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for when the dashing groom shed a tear at the first sight of his bride, who walked down the aisle in her chic lace Justin Alexander wedding gown from Bridal Beginning. Post-nuptials, the two posed in the enchanting gardens before making their way to their celebration that featured organic-inspired decor. Acrylic signage and escort cards and black taper candles offset the wooden details and added a modern touch to the rather rustic elements. Meanwhile, a gold speckled cake by Tasty Bakery complemented the twinkling of the lights of the clear top tent that covered the dinner portion of the reception! You wouldn’t even know it was a cold day because one look at these images by Whitling Photography and our hearts are instantly on fire! Prepare to be obsessed!
About the Couple
We met when I was 16 and Sean was 19, so we have basically grown up together. We bought our first house in 2016 and totally flipped it, which brought us even closer together! Fast forward to 2018 and we hosted our first Thanksgiving for both of our families, which is when we got engaged! We planned our wedding in 11 months and everything could not have turned out more perfectly!
About the Wedding
I would describe our wedding as romantic elegant meets modern rustic. It was absolutely everything that we love and that represents us as a couple. There was lots of greenery, dim lighting, flowers, black and gold accents, as well as muted tones in the flowers, and of course lots of wood. One thing that was unique and stood out was my bouquet…that thing was huge! I loved every single thing about it!
Favorite Moment
Our favorite moment was the ceremony. Walking down the aisle was so surreal. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt that type of adrenaline before. It felt like everything else stopped when we were standing up there together just holding hands saying our vows. Definitely our favorite moment of the day and definitely one of the most unforgettable and favorite moments of my life!
