While we are big fans of color, today’s wedding at the Wintergarden at PPG Place is proof that you don’t always need them. With a very clean palette of mostly white accented with small pops of black, Kaitlin and Steve’s celebration still managed to make a splash. That’s because while the list of hues used may have been short, the awe-inspiring details were still big! They started with Kaitlin’s Sareh Nouri wedding dress from Bridal Beginning. Classic and chic with a subtle sweetheart neckline and a ruched bodice, the satin number stunned when the bride turned around with a layered oversized bow in the back. See Jane Blush and Courtney Benedetti completed Kaitlin’s look with natural makeup and a soft updo. After a traditional church ceremony, the wedding party toasted to the newlyweds in a private cocktail hour at Fairmont Pittsburgh’s Fl2 before making their way across the street to the reception. It was there where jaws really started to drop. greenSinner created an indoor tropical oasis with towering centerpieces of fresh greenery, white florals, and romantic glass candelabras. A custom monogram bearing the couple’s initials and designed by Blush Paper Co. appeared on the menu cards, while a six-tiered Tasty Bakery cake featured a waterfall of flowers. Overseen by Day Of PGH and captured by Leeann Marie Photography, this modern wedding is monochromatic perfection!

About the Couple
We were going for a run and Steve proposed on a hill that has special significance to us. He then flew my parents to Chicago from Pittsburgh and had a surprise engagement party for our close family and friends.

About the Wedding
It was classy and timeless but modern and emotional with a “realness” to it. It featured “us” and was a great reunion for so many friends and family!

I love how this wedding proves that you don’t need a rainbow of colors to make a bold statement. The monochromatic scheme with touches of black is so chic and sophisticated!
