When it comes to clean, bright, and simply stylish aesthetics, it doesn’t get much better than Sarah and Matt’s modern minimalist wedding at the Terrace at Hyatt House. With sentimental ties to the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Duquesne University, the two said “I do” here and then snapped some shots on campus before hopping into their vintage bus from Antique Coach Excursions and heading to their sweet celebration. The light and airiness of their day was complemented with greenery galore, including a picturesque boxwood wall backdrop behind their darling sweetheart table, organic wedding bouquet and centerpiece designs, and even a floral hair piece worn by Sarah that paired well with her Hayley Paige wedding dress. As a nod towards the (best) city, mini Heinz Ketchup bottles doubled as escort cards and guest favors. Glass place settings, acrylic signs, and clear chiavari chairs topped off the sharp design, allowing for the natural light to really shine through the venue and making these photos by Lindsay Eileen Photography a real vision. Allow the radiance of their day to inspire you!
About the Couple
Knowing that one day I wanted to get married at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Duquesne University, Matt proposed to me in front of the chapel when we were visiting for a Duquesne Dukes basketball game with my family.
About the Wedding
The wedding reception had a gorgeous “open air” feel with tons of natural light. Sarah chose a lot of greenery throughout her reception space, which added to the organic feel of the day! We are huge fans of her early fall color scheme as the burgundy bridesmaid dresses were SO flattering, and the blush flower girl dresses were a surprising touch that really completed the look.
In true Pittsburgh fashion, their reception favors were little jars of Heinz Ketchup, which we thought was so incredibly cool! We also loved that they chose to cut a pie instead of a cake during their reception!
Favorite Moment
There were so many amazing moments that it’s hard to pick just one! The smile on Matt’s face when he saw Sarah walk down the aisle was a highlight for sure! He also dipped and kissed her right in front of their greenery wall during their first dance, which got quite a bit of applause from the crowd and made for a perfect picture moment! At various times throughout the day, I would catch one of them looking at the other, and there was just so much LOVE present there. It was a beautiful day for the sweetest of couples!
