Mixing bold shapes and angles with metallics, brights, and Pantone’s Colors of the Year, this recent styled shoot from Garnish Event Design is the closest thing to perfection that I’ve ever seen. Combining rose quartz and serenity with copper, turquoise and orange, Garnish created a palette that was soft yet modern, and the rest of the setting came alive from there. Bold patterns met flowy fabrics, lush flowers collided with textural designs, and sharp lines fused into asymmetrical silhouettes, all of which created a look that is edgy but romantic. From the uniquely shaped menu card and the geode table number to the strikingly blue water goblets and the copper tube-turned “seating card”, not a single detail was overlooked in Garnish’s styled tablescape, which incorporated luxe rentals from Event Source. The real show stopper though was the eye-catching floral creations whipped up by Garnish’s own designers – a garden oasis of orchids, tulips, roses, hydrangeas and fresh greens was suspended from a custom-made copper canopy, which hung over a variety of other arrangements. The same theme was carried into the incredible copper arbor that made for one hell of a ceremony backdrop. I am literally dying.
Vintage brides beware; this shoot proves that modern is the new black. Take a look at these shots from Leeann Marie, Wedding Photographers to see if you don’t agree.
From Garnish Event Design…
Geometric shapes + mod patterns + mixed metals + Pantone’s Colors of the Year = a design collaboration of epic proportions! Garnish Event Design partnered with some of Pittsburgh’s best to bring geometric wedding inspiration to the Steel City and beyond. Our geometric concept worked all the right angles at the ultra-sleek Pittsburgh Fairmont Hotel, but this shoot anything but obtuse. We worked with the region’s premier event professionals to set the stage with coupled traditional pieces, personal touches, mixed metals, shapes, textures and fresh blooms. It was all about the angles in this shoot and Leeann Marie, Wedding Photographers and ShoFilms Cinema expertly captured each breathtaking moment.
Setting the table with the Pantone Color of Year, a rose quartz linen embroidered with a gold metallic floral pattern from Nuage Design Inc. provided an elegant yet edgy backdrop to a glittering tablescape for the sweetheart table. Green ferns, roses, and tulips provided the bride and groom with their own private tabletop garden. From the gold flatware and stemware to the geometric table menu, modern romance was served. Mixing metals with lush petals was the contrast that truly made this room pop. To set off the mod angles, Garnish Event Design brought luxurious floral creations to the table by mixing fresh greens with orchids, tulips, hydrangea, garden roses, and other unexpected floral combinations. Copper piping was expertly crafted into a show-stopping geometric ceremony backdrop, draped with a decadent swag of greenery with peach tulips. A shining copper overhang supported a canopy of orchids and hydrangeas over a serenity blue and gold tablescape.
Spring forward for the fashion forward. The groom sported an artisan neck tie by local company, Neck & Tie Co., with a fresh orchid boutonniere by Garnish Event Design.
Instead of traditional bouquets, Garnish’s floral artists handcrafted fresh floral bracelets for the bridal party, to accent their glam contrasting dresses by Free People. Evaline’s Bridal and Hayley Paige brought some serious fashionista vibes which set against the chic city backdrop beautifully. The two contrasting bridal looks paired an ice blue ballgown with a lush orchid barrette hairpiece and a super glam crystal geometric bodice with a custom boho chic flower crown and an orchid sash that cascaded down the open back for an unexpected take on modern romance.
Beauty Justified by Justine gave our brides soft dewy skin, peach cheek color, and lashes for days.
The angle on romance? Opposites will always attract but collaboration is the key.
