Today’s Rustic Acres Farm wedding is a dream come true for any bride longing for a modern yet rustic look! Leah knew from the very beginning what she wanted her and Michael’s wedding to be like – an elegant affair with an earthy vibe. That style came to life thanks to tons of fresh greenery, loads of candles, and natural elements. Wooden tables were adorned with clean and crisp white place settings, while arrangements of white hydrangeas and green amaranthus dotted the centers. The bridesmaids even helped to create a whimsical display of decorative hoops for the cookie table and a fresh floral chandelier for above the dance floor. A semi-naked wedding cake, edgy wedding invitations, and a swoon-worthy Hayley Paige wedding dress rounded out the noteworthy details. About the Couple
We met in 2013 at a local gym. We lost touch for a couple of years and reconnected in 2015. We had been dating for two years when we got engaged on June 30, 2017. Michael and I had just started looking at ring a few days before a trip to New York City. Michael was going to be out of town for work several months following our trip. I thought he would propose sometime after, maybe in the fall, seeing as the ring I wanted had to be custom set. Instead, Michael and the jeweler worked together to get the ring in just three days. Within hours of arriving in NYC, Michael proposed to me in Central Park and completely caught me by surprise. My daughter, Alexia, was there and after asking me to marry him, he gave Alexia a promise ring, committing to loving and supporting her forever. It was perfect.
About the Wedding
From the very beginning, I knew exactly what I wanted my wedding style to be. I would’ve described it as an earthy, natural setting, with elegant, organic florals and decor. I wanted my gown and my girls’ gowns to flow and for everything to feel ethereal. I love candles and really wanted them all over. My bridesmaids helped create beautiful decorative hoops for above our cookie table and a floral chandelier that we placed above the dance floor. I used small touches of gold as well. I’m really into flowers and I wanted heavy greenery and big hydrangea and roses everywhere. I used live greenery garland that I ordered from Sam’s Club and my florist did the rest. She nailed it. It felt like she took all of my inspo photos right off of the page and placed them in front of me. We provided all of the decor, but my coordinators, Brittany & Cat, did a phenomenal job! I didn’t lift a finger and they perfectly transformed the venue into the romantic dream I had envisioned.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment of the day was my daughter’s maid of honor speech. She would not allow me to hear the speech before and really wanted it to be a surprise. It was beautiful. She wrote so beautifully about my husband, her step father. My father passed away unexpectedly in 2017 and we were very close, but he and my daughter were even closer. It was a huge loss for us both. Alexia used her speech as an opportunity to honor him and honor the role in which my husband stepped into during that traumatic time in our lives. My husband and I were so moved. It’s a moment we will never forget.
