Sometimes altering your wedding plans makes for the most charming of days. Don’t believe us? Olivia and Dominic’s chic elopement is here to prove that there is magic even with the smallest of celebrations! After having to postpone their wedding day twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple opted to finally tie the knot in the heart of winter. Olivia spent the morning with her mom and sister getting ready at the Fairmont Pittsburgh before slipping into her sleek and simplistic Stella York wedding gown from Sorelle Bridal Salon. She then met her soon-to-be hubby on the iconic hotel steps for a first look that became a favorite moment of the day. From there, the high school sweethearts headed to St. Paul’s Cathedral to officially become Mr. & Mrs! Post nuptials, it was off to the Mellon Institute columns for images that leave us with all the magazine worthy vibes, followed by an intimate dinner with immediate family to celebrate. It was a no frills, all love kind of day – and one that was absolutely beautiful. And nobody could capture the timeless yet incredibly modern aesthetic better than Tyler Norman Photography. We can’t wait for you to indulge in the sweetness below!
About the Couple
Dominic and Olivia were high school sweethearts. They have been together since junior year of high school and they haven’t been apart since. They grew up and fell in love in Pittsburgh, PA before moving to Dallas, TX right before getting married.
Dominic planned a surprise engagement party with the help of family and friends in October 2018. Dom got down on one knee in front of their loved ones and popped the question as “A Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd played on the radio by random chance. This became Dominic and Olivia’s first dance song.
About the Wedding
They canceled their wedding twice due to COVID-19 before finally planning a small, COVID-friendly ceremony and dinner for immediate family only.
Pittsburgh will always be a special place for the couple. Dominic and Olivia’s first home together was a downtown apartment, so it was only fitting that they stayed at their original reception location of The Fairmont Pittsburgh during the wedding weekend. This was a beautiful location for Olivia to get ready with her mom and sister and the couple had their first look on the iconic Fairmont staircase.
Dominic and Olivia love a classic and timeless look. The Fairmont and St. Paul Cathedral were gorgeous locations for the simple and elegant black and white theme.
Favorite Moment
The first look was the absolute best part of the day! The couple was so excited to see each other and after two years of the ups and downs of wedding planning, they couldn’t believe their day was finally here! Both of them were overcome with emotions that were indescribable.
