We think F. Scott Fitzgerald himself would fall madly in love with this art deco inspired wedding styled shoot from some of Pittsburgh’s finest wedding vendors. Pulling from the literary classic The Great Gatsby and the 1920’s era, Yinz Getting Married and Ashley Giffin Photography designed an editorial that embraced the trends of that decade while also highlighting the modern features of the chosen venue, The Oaklander Hotel. The space’s navy blue, hunter green, black, white, and gold color scheme lent itself beautifully to a palette that was dramatic and luxurious. Blush Paper Co.’s velvet stationery featured both script and art deco fonts for a classic feel while Steel City Florals played off the latest wedding trends with a floating floral arrangement above the tablescape. There, patterned dishware from All Occasions Party Rental sat atop a show-stopping deep blue linen from Lendable Linens for a look that was truly breathtaking. Even the real life couple looked the part with her in a vintage inspired dress from One White Lane Bridal Gallery and him in a black and white tuxedo from Surmesur Custom Menswear. The result was dramatically stunning. Just see for yourself.

About the Shoot
This shoot were inspired by the energy, drama, and colors of the Great Gatsby 1920’s era. The Oaklander Hotel provided the perfect backdrop with their geometric lines and bold navy, green, black, and gold decor throughout the space. We wanted it to feel like stepping back in time yet while also creating a modern flare that would resonate with today’s soonlyweds. Steel City Florals incorporated floating elements like the dramatic, bouquet and floral arrangement that hung over the head table. The authentic duck-head walking cane, 1920’s inspired dresses, black and white tuxedo, and velvet stationery truly brought the vision together.
