This downtown Pittsburgh proposal and subsequent photoshoot is full of so much meaning that you just might want to have your tissues handy. When Aaron decided to propose to his soon-to-be fiance Ansu, there was one spot that came to mind. The two met at Duquesne University and shared a first date near the water. Because of that, Aaron knew there was no better way to put a ring on Ansu’s finger than with a Point State Park proposal. Dressed in beautiful blue hues that complemented the flowing waters, Ansu thought the two were just posing for a couple’s photoshoot that day. Little did she know what all was in store! After saying yes, the pair spent hours afterwards with Carly Ferraco Photography hitting up meaningful locations, such as The Milkshake Factory and their alma mater, documenting their love. They even wore traditional Indian garments for some photos, which is the cherry on top of this already beautiful gallery. If you love, love then you’re really going to LOVE these images!
About the Couple
Aaron and Ansu met in the fall of 2014 at Duquesne University through the orientation program. They started off as friends and it wasn’t until two years later that Aaron decided to ask her on a date. The day after the proposal was the six year anniversary of their first date.
About the Proposal
To Ansu, a proposal in Pittsburgh was unexpected. Aaron lives in North Carolina and Ansu in Philadelphia. But Aaron had a few requirements in mind for when he popped the question. He wanted to be close to Ansu’s family in Pittsburgh. He also wanted to visit all the places in the area that were important to the early days of their relationship. So Aaron planned a weekend for the couple to travel to Pittsburgh, and he convinced Ansu that they were doing a couple’s photoshoot around the city.
What Ansu didn’t know was that Aaron was going to get down on one knee at Point State Park with the North Shore and Sister Bridges in the background. This was where they spent one of their first dates for Light Up Night 2016. After the proposal, the couple did a photoshoot around the city. For three hours, they visited places iconic Pittsburgh places, like The Point and the Rachel Carson Bridge. They also visited places that are meaningful to their relationship, like The Milkshake Factory where they had their first date and the bench at Duquesne University where they decided to make their relationship official.
