Calling all the glam brides…this Omni William Penn Hotel wedding is bound to be right up your alley! Daniela and Alex’s celebration was as luxurious as it was romantic. A subtle and feminine blush pink and cream color palette set the tone for a reception that was full of bells and whistles. Towering floral arrangements of pink roses, white hydrangeas, and white orchids were accented with dripping crystals for a sparkly touch. Beaded blush pink chargers – courtesy of All Occasions Party Rental – adorned tables dressed with linens from Mosaic and each place setting was completed with a bottle of wine for guests to take home and enjoy. A custom bar bearing the couple’s engagement photo and a white dance floor showcasing their initials – both from Marbella Event Furniture & Decor Rental – were just a few of the other show-stopping details. Couple all of this with a groom in a classic black and white tuxedo, a bride in a gorgeous Pnina Tornai ballgown, and traditional Pittsburgh portraits and you have yourself a recipe for a wedding that combines luxury with elegance. Weddings by Alisa was there to capture it all. Trust us…you don’t want to miss this one!
About the Couple
We met in January 2016 on my first day of Physician Assistant school. Alex was the year ahead of me and he volunteered to help with new student orientation. From there, our relationship started as we became friends and colleagues. We spent the first year of our relationship long distance as Alex went on to start his clinical rotations, traveling to different states for weeks at a time, but our connection always grew stronger.
It was Memorial Day weekend 2018 and I was taking my board examinations that Saturday (a very stressful time). Alex had planned a special day for us afterwards to celebrate finishing graduate school and completing my exams. He took me for a picnic and a hike at McConnells Mills, where we climbed up to a secluded location (that he scouted out the week prior). He popped the question in front of a beautiful, private waterfall. His brother was there to capture the moment on camera and then we popped champagne. Later, we went back to his parents’ house, where both of our families were waiting to celebrate the exciting news!
About the Wedding
We had a gorgeous palette of blush and cream with sequins and sparkly crystals pouring from the flower arrangements. The custom dance floor paired with the custom bars went perfectly with all the tables flooded with beautiful flower arrangements, which included cascading white orchids.
Favorite Moment
One of my favorite moments was the ribbon cutting. In Italian culture, the bride traditionally unties or cuts a ribbon when exiting the front door of her parent’s house. This occurs when she is ready to leave the house for the wedding ceremony. This signifies the bride “leaving” her parents’ home to start a new home with her husband.
