Get ready to have your socks knocked off. This lavish Hollywood Inspired wedding pulled out all of the stops and will leave you speechless. At least, that’s what it did to me. College sweethearts Evanee and James were engaged at the Fairmont Pittsburgh. When it came time to choose their reception location, it was a perfect fit. The pair was inspired by Hollywood glamour, and with a color palette of red, white, black, and gold, they created just that. Crystal chandeliers dripping from the ceiling, literally thousands of lush red roses, mirrored tables, acrylic chiavari chairs, reflective vases, sparkly linens, and details, details, details. You should expect nothing less when {SHE} is involved. Evanee and James’s affair was downright wedding perfection, but here are a few things to keep your eyes peeled for:
- The bride’s custom Stephen Yearick dress from Anne Gregory for the Bride. For the ceremony, Evanee wore a ballgown skirt over her deep V neck beaded and illusion lace sheath number. Once the I Do’s were over, the bride removed the skirt for dancing and partying!
- Epic guest entertainment! Ever see an aerial silk artist at a wedding? Me neither. But it looked like it was amazing!!! Talk about giving your guests something to talk about.
- THAT CAKE! Holy cow, wait until you see this one – a six tier gold and white cake from Frosted Envy suspended upside down and adorned with a ribbon of fresh red roses. I LITERALLY DIE.
The modern style of Ann Louise Photography was perfectly suited to capture every last amazing detail of Evanee and James’s big day. This is THE equivalent of a wedding mic drop.
From the bride…
When and how did you two meet?
Allegheny College, sophomore year, same chemistry lab. I was invited by his roommate to their Halloween party and the rest is history. <3
Juicy details on the proposal, please! Where, when, how?
After a day of shopping on Black Friday 2014, Jim sent me to the Fairmont’s spa to relax. I was to meet my brother upstairs afterwards for some good Instagram pictures (because the views from the suites are amazing). When I went upstairs, low and behold, it was Jim waiting inside. Dozens of roses lined the path leading to the big picture window, where “Evanee will you marry me?” was written. Perfect love songs (including our song, “Better Together”) were playing in the background with a slide show of photos from our years together! We have two furkids that had to stay home, but he made sure to incorporate them by having florals designed to look like puppy faces. It was the best day ever, second only to the day I said “I do”.
Describe the wedding. The look, theme, style, colors, etc.
Hollywood, glam!
What made your wedding unique?
Everything! The people around us were terrific! We did a save the date video instead of a standard postcard, and it was played as we entered the reception, along with some same-day footage that ShoFilms was able to capture.
What was your favorite moment of the day?
I can’t pick just one. But that feeling – just looking into his eyes knowing “This is forever, this is my happily ever after”.
What advice would you give to other Burgh Brides planning their big day?
Stay calm! It’ll all work out like it’s supposed to! Also, live the day in slow motion.
