Oliva and Tre’s Strip District engagement session is the epitome of cool city chic! The stylish couple opted to wear black and cream, which was a nice, neutral palette against the urban backdrop that highlighted the city skyline. Having done a long distance relationship for a bit, this soonlyweds chose specific locations in the heart of the city that held significance to them, since Pittsburgh is the place where the pair decided to finally start their lives together. With their friend and talented photographer Sevi Kontokanis in tow, they posed atop a parking garage in the infamous Pittsburgh neighborhood before walking hand-in-hand through the streets, taking in the gritty sites. Amid the hustle and bustle of city life, we’re happy to share these romantic images that share the quieter, more intimate, yet still totally magical moments that take place in the city!
About the Couple
We met in 2013 at Kent State. We were friends for years before making the jump to dating, which has given us a great backbone for our relationship. We truly are best friends. We have known each other for 9 years. In this time, we explored other relationships, but always found ourselves coming back to each other. We did long distance for awhile while Tre finished his degree, and I moved back to Pittsburgh for work. In 2020 amid the pandemic, Tre decided to make the jump and move to Pittsburgh, where we moved in together.
We got engaged on September 3, 2021 in Santa Monica. We decided to take a small vacation and over a fire pit, beachfront dinner, Tre asked me to marry him. It was like a movie.
About the Session
We wanted urban photos that showed off the city because it is where we finally came together to start our lives as one. We went with neutral cream tones, which worked out as a lovely contrast against the urban theme.
Our photographer is super special to us. She is also a friend of ours from college and her partner, Jeff, was Tre’s roommate in college. He will actually be marrying us! Sevi is the sweetest person and made us feel SUPER comfortable…because let’s be honest, we haven’t taken pictures since our senior pictures in high school and we were NERVOUS. We can’t wait to have her photograph our wedding and for Jeff to marry us. It’s a special thing when friends and talents can come together on such a special day.
I LOVE their outfits! They look incredible, and so sweet.
