Last December, Nicole and Caylee brought the magic of the winter season to life at their wedding at Slate. With its exposed brick, ductwork, and gritty vibes, the industrial chic Strip District venue was the perfect setting to represent the couple’s city lifestyle. The ambiance was softened thanks to romantic draping, glowing candlelight, and tons of evergreen and white floral arrangements from Community Flower Shop. From the fresh pine monogram backdrop to the hand-lettered marble tile seating chart, every envious detail was expertly overseen by Shayla Hawkins Events. If you thought winter weddings weren’t beautiful, Nicole and Caylee’s is about to prove you wrong. See it through the eyes of Kaitlin Powell Photography and Just Hitched Wedding Films.
About the Couple
Caylee and I met in 2013 while studying together in nursing school in Pittsburgh. After graduation, we moved in together into a small row house in Lawrenceville. We then started our careers together as pediatric nurses at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. We have spent the past few years growing together in our relationship, spending quality time with family and friends, and traveling the country (mostly to weddings that aren’t our own haha).
About the Wedding
We are so excited that we found the perfect venue at SLATE. It perfectly represent our “city of Pittsburgh” lifestyle.
Our style was industrial winter chic with brick and wood meeting pines and greenery accented with gold and candlelight. The bridges on our cookie table were so cool!

From the photographer…
Finally getting to celebrate with them! Nicole and Caylee are so chill and HILARIOUS. We had spent so much time talking and getting to know each other beforehand. It was awesome to finally see their full vision come together and just be one kick ass, fun day.
