Soft luxury meets a subtle grit in today’s featured industrial glam wedding. Christy and Bobby aimed to create a romantic ambiance with the help of a careful mix of antique and modern decor. After a Mt. Washington first look and Point State Park portrait session, the couple exchanged vows beneath a canopy of hanging Edison bulbs and in front of a glistening draped backdrop. As guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the reception space was totally transformed with a little help Pittsburgh wedding florist Sapphire & Lace Design. Floral arrangements included soft mauves accented with sage green and dusty blue. Pink napkins popped against crisp white linens, while individual mirrors calligraphed with each guest’s name gave a touch of glam. Colored taper candles added a trendy and dramatic element as well. Our favorite part though? The 90s cover band that rocked the party well into the night. Ashley Kemmer Photography captured the goodness from beginning to end, and it’s all below for your viewing pleasure!
About the Couple
Bobby and I met at Slippery Rock University. He played football and I was a cheerleader, so we had the same group of friends all throughout college. It wasn’t until our senior year that our friendship grew. By the time we graduated, we knew we couldn’t let each other go!
My dad asked Bobby and I if we would like to go to dinner. It was planned extremely last minute, and I arranged all of the plans so I had NO idea that they had an alternate plan waiting for me. After dinner, we returned to our apartment, and Bobby ran inside first because “he was about to pee his pants”. My dad and I followed shortly behind him, and I walked into a house FULL of our family and closest friends! Our song from college came on – “Mirrors” by Justin Timberlake. That’s when he pulled me in and got down on one knee. It was the most amazing, shocking moment that I have ever experienced!
About the Wedding
We aimed to have a very soft, romantic, and antique wedding style. Because our venue was a very plain and simple space, we were really able to have fun with our decor in order to transform the room. We chose a ceiling package which included hanging Edison bulbs and crystal chandeliers, as well as a fabric backdrop with lights for our ceremony. The floral color scheme was champagne, mauve, dusty blue, and burgundy. The flowers were very colorful, yet soft and romantic. Paired with the trailing floral centerpieces were burgundy tapered candles in crystal holders. Alternate tables had an array of floating candles and greenery. With the ceiling decor, floral arrangements, and candles, our guests were absolutely blown away! The ceremony and reception both ended up exactly how I had imagined, and I cannot thank our florist enough!
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment of the day was sitting together at our sweetheart table. It was one of the only moments that we had completely alone. We were able to take a breath, take in the moments, and reflect on our ceremony.
