Jess and Jake had their hearts set on a snowy winter engagement shoot, waiting for the next snowfall. Their impromptu session with Kashia Lee Photography captured a free-spirited vibe, as the couple met Kashia at her cousin’s property, which is sprinkled with spruce trees, right after a recent flurry. Without planning the exact date or the details, Jess and Jake wandered through the fields in their snowboots, tossing snow and carrying a bit of mistletoe for a festive holiday touch.

About the Couple
Jess and Jake’s love story began in high school. Jake played football, while Jess, a student athletic trainer, was always watching from the sidelines. She often helped injured players, and Jake, being no stranger to injuries, needed her assistance more than once. Ten years later, Jake proposed on their anniversary at Jess’s family winery. Jess was so shocked she couldn’t speak, though everyone knew her answer was yes. Now, thirteen years later, they’re enjoying the life they’ve built, filled with laughter, their daughter, and their sweet rescue dog.

About the Shoot
From the photographer…
The couple had been hoping for snowy engagement photos, so we had planned to take some playful shots together as soon as fresh snow arrived – and I knew just the spot! My cousin lives on a beautiful piece of land filled with spruce trees. When the snow finally came, I texted Jess and Jake to see if they were ready for some fun. Sure enough, they were available and met me there. They had snowball fights, shared plenty of kisses and cuddles, and tried to stay warm while making the most of the day. We had such a great time!
