These high school sweethearts are getting married this summer at the Brookgreen Gardens in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. But for their Pittsburgh engagement photos, Brooke and Jerod teamed up with Hannah Leigh Photography. They wanted an e-session venue that gave off the same English garden, country club feel that their wedding venue does. What better place than Hartwood Acres? The gardens and blooming florals paired with the ornate stone beauty of the mansion remind me of something you’d see in a storybook. It’s darling and grandiose all at the same time, a perfect spot for some pre-wedding pics of these two adorable love birds.

From the photographer…
Brooke and Jerod are high school sweethearts (although they didn’t actually go to the same school!). They met at their church in Pittsburgh and continued to create one of the strongest relationships I have ever seen! They persevered through long distance and pursued a Christ-centered courtship that lead them to their engagement this summer.
Brooke’s family vacations at their home in Myrtle Beach every year. This past summer, she went down with her family and was persuaded to go to the beach one afternoon. I say persuaded because she wasn’t sure what the fuss was about since it was the gloomiest day ever. Once they got to the beach, her mom conveniently “forgot” to bring something and left Brooke to relax on the beach by herself. Jerod quickly made his way down the boardwalk and surprised her from behind. He proposed and, of course, she said yes!
Their wedding is going to be at Brookgreen Gardens in Myrtle Beach. So they wanted the engagement session to have the same country club, garden feel. I think Hartwood Acres truly captured that vision and we just ran with it!
