This Strip District engagement session is the best of both worlds. With the city skyline, the red brick of the History Center, and the steel of one of our famous bridges, it combines the grit that Pittsburgh is so famous for. But with Alyssa’s thousand watt smile, loose waves in her hair, and a fancy black dress, it’s also downright gorgeous. A little bit fancy and a little bit edgy, this shoot from Levana Melamed Photography is urban romance at its finest. If these photos are indication of how gorgeous Alyssa and Jeff’s September wedding is going to be, I am already counting down the days!
From the bride…
Tell me about yourselves! When and how did you two meet? How long have you been together? How did you get engaged? All the juicy details!
Jeff and I met on a fall Saturday night in Shadyside. Neither him or I ever venture out to the east side of Pittsburgh. We were both out having a good time with our own sets of friends, until the evening wound down. Like most Saturday nights out, the night ended with a late night snack, specifically pizza. While standing in a long line, Jeff overheard my friend and I talking about which slice of pizza we were going to get. He then offered to buy a whole pizza for us to share. The rest is history.
Jeff and I got engaged on February 12, 2017. He had told me we were going to look at a potential wedding venue downtown that he had come across and knew that I would really love. I thought something was up considering we were not engaged yet. As we were walking through Market Square to the venue, he stopped me and asked, “Isn’t this a little strange that were going to look at a wedding venue and we’re not even engaged yet?” I looked at him puzzled, considering he was the one who had planned the whole thing and responded “Well, yes.” He then got down on one knee and said, “Well, I can change that” and asked me to marry him. He had a photographer there that captured the whole moment. It was perfect.
Describe the engagement session and what inspired the shoot. What was unique about it?
Jeff and I both love the city so we knew we wanted to incorporate it into our engagement session. We both wanted an urban feel so the Strip District and Hot Metal bridge seemed like the perfect locations.
It was fun to just laugh and be silly. We got to be ourselves and Levana captured that perfectly. The photos turned out gorgeous and we couldn’t be happier!
