What began as a celebration for Sami’s work promotion quickly turned into a surprise proposal at Mount Washington’s Grandview Overlook, beautifully captured by Iris Marie Photography. Sami and Jack had been navigating long-distance for years, with Sami recently relocating to be closer to Jack. While in town, they headed out to dinner at LeMont. Sami expected nothing more than a quick stop to take in the city view – only to find Jack down on one knee. The photos reveal Sami’s genuine shock, Jack’s joy (and a touch of relief), and the heartfelt embrace of her closest friends who rushed in to celebrate. Both dressed in white, the couple stood against the city’s soft, neutral backdrop, the setting sun casting a golden light that made every frame feel cinematic. It’s no wonder the Grandview Overlook remains one of our favorite proposal locations!
About the Couple
Sami and Jack crossed paths a few times over the years at the University of Dayton, even living as neighbors at one point. During their senior year, Jack spotted Sami across the bar one night and decided to message her best friend for her number. What started as a simple connection quickly grew into a friendship – and soon after graduation, a relationship.
For years, the couple navigated long-distance, with Jack living in a small town in Ohio while Sami remained in Pittsburgh. In May, Sami made the move to be closer, and by July, Jack was down on one knee.
About the Proposal
The night began with Jack taking Sami out to dinner at the LeMmont to “celebrate her promotion at work.” Afterward, they walked to the city overlook, where Jack got down on one knee. To make the moment even more special, Sami’s sisters and three best friends were there to surprise her! After the proposal, everyone headed to Sienna Mercato to meet up with more friends and family, and the following night, there was another celebration at Sami’s parents’ house. The couple noted, “It was so special to have so many loved ones travel from all across the country to be there. It truly couldn’t have been a more perfect weekend!”
