With luxurious details and all the blush pink your heart can handle, today’s wedding at Irons Mill Farmstead is a girly girl’s dream come true. Ashley and Bobby wanted a soft, romantic look to compliment the rustic venue. Resident crystal chandeliers were the stars of the show but were accented beautifully by acrylic candelabras, tons of candlelight, and gorgeously lush floral arrangements done by none other than greenSinner. While the style was certainly one for the Pinterest boards, this wedding wasn’t without heartfelt details. Bubba, the bride’s dog who helped play a role in Bobby’s proposal, walked down the aisle like an oh-so-good boy. He even had a cake topper fashioned after his liking and a signature drink bearing his name. After the glamorous affair, guests were treated to a low key night cap – a bonfire complete with pizza and s’mores. Take one peek at these images from Andrew Kim Photography , as well as this footage from Pittsburgh wedding videographer Dorosh Documentaries, and we guarantee you’ll fall in love!
About the Couple
We met on a blind date in October 2016. I remember almost cancelling the lunch date because I was so nervous to meet up with someone I’d never met! Thankfully, my best friend (and eventual matron of honor) convinced me to keep the date because “you never know…he could be the one!” Well, she was right!
Bobby knows the way to my heart and that is through my rescue dog, Bubba! He included him in the proposal by putting a sign around his neck saying “Bobby has my blessing.” Bubba greeted me at the door that evening and when I read the sign, I immediately knew what was happening. Bobby was waiting for me in the basement with pictures of all our travels, flowers, champagne, and romantic lighting. When he got down on one knee, I looked down and Bubba was laying by my side….Bubba and I said yes! The following day, Bobby planned an engagement party with our families and close friends.
About the Wedding
We had a romantic, soft, rustic look with shades of blush pinks and golds for our colors. We got married in a barn that had the most gorgeous chandeliers! We continued the romantic vibe by adding a ton of candles and acrylic candelabras on the tables (thank you, greenSinner). We blacked out the large window in the barn and draped lights over it to give a more romantic feel.
There were little touches of my dog, Bubba, everywhere in the barn. Our signature drink was called “The Bubba.” There was a custom cake topper of him and he even walked down the aisle with our man of honor. Animal rescue is very dear to my heart, so instead of favors we donated to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
Finally, a bonfire was lit later in the evening where a late night snack of pizza and s’mores was available for guests to enjoy!
Favorite Moment
Ashley: When we were reading our vows. Bobby made me laugh and cry with vows. When I started to read mine, I remember just looking into his eyes and thinking, “I’m so lucky to have found you.” Vows were definitely my favorite part.
Bobby: Seeing how beautiful Ashley was as a bride. She took my breath away.
