Texture and color came together for Maura and Alex’s garden-inspired tent wedding…and let’s just say it’s one of the prettiest designs we have ever seen! From the bride’s stunning floral applique Jane Hill wedding gown from Bridal Beginning and the drop-dead gorgeous floral arrangements from The Blue Daisy Floral Designs, to the charming tablescapes with pieces from PartySavvy and Lendable Linens, along with the statement suspended rattan hanging lantern display, you can tell that each element was not only carefully thought of, but also very well executed. As if the details weren’t enough to leave a lasting impression on their guests, the couple also provided great entertainment from the Bachelor Boys Band. A lot goes into planning a tented wedding but the lovebirds (who met while studying abroad in Luxembourg) truly made it look so easy. So much so that we can practically smell the freshness of this outdoor wedding feature poppin’ through the photos from Dawn Derbyshire Photography. Let’s just say if organizing and designing a tented celebration was a school lesson, then this one would receive an A++!

About the Wedding
We met in 2015 while studying abroad in Luxembourg. We were part of the same friend group and went on many adventures together. After studying abroad, we began dating our senior year at Miami University, after I asked Alex to my sorority formal. After college, Alex moved to Denver while I studied nursing at Duquesne University. We did long distance for a year before I moved to Colorado too. After almost five years together, we got engaged while on a hike in Aspen, Colorado.

About the Wedding
We wanted it to feel like a garden party, with the main influence of color to be in the florals and food. We wanted to keep things classic and elegant, while still being fun and comfortable. Something that we did in lieu of a wedding party head table was a family table with both sets of our parents and siblings. It was very special to have both our Ohio and Pittsburgh families together with us on our wedding day.

Favorite Moment
Our favorite moment of the day was coming down the stairs into the reception tent. We kept our indoor church ceremony intimate, so it was extra special to see all of our loved ones for the first time as husband and wife!
