The freshness of an al fresco soiree is about to take over your screen with today’s Fox Chapel Golf Club wedding. Chelsea and Brandon chose this Pittsburgh wedding venue – which is like something out of a fairy tale – because it exuded romance, whimsy, and garden-like feels, exactly what they wanted their celebration to be about. The sophisticated elegance of the space calls for a chic color palette but this couple made their blush, ivory, and gold theme pop with hints of brighter pink. To start things off, the bride didn’t just carry flowers…she wore them! Her Bridal Beginning Berta wedding dress featured 3D florals and illusion lace. Hair and makeup from Glam to Go and accessories from Clarissa Boutique completed her look. After a terrace ceremony overlooking the greens, the party continued indoors. The Farmer’s Daughter Flowers created gorgeously feminine arrangements of orchids, ranunculus, and roses in shades of blush, pink, and white. The day wasn’t without plenty of sparkle though. Keep your eyes peeled for matte gold bridesmaids dresses from Bridal Beginning, a metallic drip wedding cake from Le Cupcake Shoppe, and encrusted Manolo Blahnik bridal shoes. It was a perfectly dreamy day, and no one could capture it better than Caitlin Thomas Photography.
About the Couple
Brandon and I met on Bumble in 2015! Our first date was at one of our favorite restaurants – Girasole in Shadyside – and we honestly hit it off right away and have been together ever since.
Brandon proposed to me on Mt. Washington. I loved it because he incorporated our daughter. He told me he was going to take me to Altius to celebrate his recent job promotion. Little did I know, he took me to the overlook and gave me a note that he had written to look like our daughter wrote it. It said, “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?” and he pulled out the ring of my dreams while on bended knee. To top it all off, he had planned for both of our families to be waiting at Altius, surprising us right after our engagement. It was truly a dream!
About the Wedding
I have to say, my mother is probably the best wedding planner I know. She took everything we wanted and turned it into a beautiful reality. From the beginning, I knew I wanted gold and blush to be our colors; they are simple, elegant, and classic. We chose Fox Chapel Golf Club because the venue really exuded what our theme would be – romantic and whimsical with a garden-like feel. We love neutral tones and wanted the understated elegance to make a big statement. My bridesmaids wore dresses from Bridal Beginning in three different styles, all matte gold. Our flowers from The Farmer’s Daughter Flowers were the perfect shades of pink, blush, and white. The way everything came together was exactly the way I pictured it my entire life.
Favorite Moment
Having our daughter there as we said our vows to each other really was such a wonderful moment for us, officially making us a family. There were so many beautiful moments, and I’m glad I get to relive them everyday as I look at pictures and videos. But I’d have to say a moment that stuck out in my mind was walking down the aisle with my dad, and doing our first dance with our daughter.
