Classic and perfectly candid, Francesca and Riley’s engagement session in the Strip District has us feeling positively giddy. As a fun-loving couple that enjoys walking among the hustle and the bustle, supporting small local businesses, and grabbing coffee in the city, they wanted their photos to truly reflect who they are. Luckily, with Pittsburgh photographer Mariah Treiber Photography behind the lens, their gallery consisted of natural poses, plenty of laughter, and even a quick stop at Coop De Ville for a caffeine fix. With Francesca’s flirty white dress against the industrial vibes of this iconic neighborhood, this session is the perfect mix of trendy and laid back, feminine and gritty Pittsburgh. We’ll stop talking and just let you keep scrolling because these images deserve to be shown off!

About the Couple
We met in high school at the public bus stop in Oakland. I went to Oakland Catholic (an all girls school) and he went to Central Catholic (an all boys school). We had mutual friends and we all started talking after school waiting for our buses. One day, Riley tweeted a picture of something he drew and I slid in his DMs and told him he should draw me something. He did, and the rest is history!
Riley had plans to take me out to a nice dinner on Mt. Washington, but earlier in the week, I told him that I didn’t want to go and he had to cancel those plans. He came up with other plans for a casual dinner date instead, Again, I said I didn’t feel like doing that either because I would be at work late. He finally got me to agree to do takeout and we would take the food back to my parents. I told him to go pick up the food by himself and to meet me at my parents but he insisted that I go with him. I don’t know how I didn’t figure it out at this point. Once we got up to Mt. Washington, I still didn’t even want to get out of the car to go to the overlook because it was a little chilly outside. But he got me out onto the overlook and it out worked perfectly – everyone else cleared away from the spot and we were alone overlooking the city. He got down on one knee and I said, “DON’T!” but he did. It took me a few long seconds but I said yes finally!

About the Session
From the photographer…
These two are very laid back, fun-loving individuals that balance each other perfectly and who love to laugh together. The shots that were most important to them were organic and intimate without looking very staged and robotic. They just really wanted me to capture their fun-loving nature. They enjoy coffee shops in the Strip and being able to walk to different small businesses. They love those city vibes and are always in the Strip; Coop de Ville and La Prima are two of their favorite places. We walked by Coop de Ville during our session and I thought it would be a unique touch for them to sit and enjoy a coffee together at their outside bar. It gave them a few extra moments to relax and really enjoy the session and their time together, which is always my goal!
