Ever dreamed of getting married on a gorgeous cliffside overlooking winding rivers and lush foliage? The garden party wedding inspiration of this styled shoot brings you the best nature has to offer. With a mix of inspiration from poetic works of art, famous love songs, and organic scenery, Joy Filled Occasions and Jackson Signature Photography designed a shoot that is both romantic and ethereal. To play off of the lush surroundings of the western Pennsylvania mountains, locally-grown florals from Pisarcik Flower Farm were focal points, while a dusty blue tulle dress from Blanc de Blanc Bridal was a whimsical contrast against the earthy backdrop. Gold calligraphed paper goods and mirror signs from Wood & Grace Boutique played nicely with antique set pieces, china, and mismatched chairs from Old Souls Vintage Rentals. Proof that nature can be the perfect setting for an elegant soiree, this styled shoot brings together swoon-worthy elements with the best of the outdoors!
From the photographer and stylist…
Nestled on an overlook of the Kiskiminetas River weaved between the cascading Allegheny Mountains, we created a romantic space where an engaged couple could be inspired to exchange their vows among the classical essence of Pennsylvania terrain. The overlook of this styled wedding shoot is framed by lush forested hills that roll into the river’s curved banks. As we were drawing inspiration for the vision of this styled shoot, we were moved by “Love’s Philosophy,” a literary work of poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.
Gathering influence from the poetic depictions of nature laced within the lyrics of this and other poets’ work, we used timeless vintage furniture to showcase how nature can be the perfect setting for an elegant wedding and wooded reception. Accentuating the surroundings of the luxurious greens of mountain spring, we used garden bouquets made of fresh and locally-grown flowers to capture the richness of the Pennsylvanian countryside. Two wine barrels with greenery adorning them set the stage as the foreground for the ceremony. Mismatched chairs welcomed the bride and groom’s closest family and friends to face the overlook, serving as a stunning backdrop while music played.
The reception was set beneath the trees with antique furniture and tall french doors. The words of an Elvis Presley song were written on cloth in intricate calligraphy, creating a romantic backdrop between the dappled trees. Each guest table was adorned with a serenity blue table runner and set with elegant china, vintage gold candlesticks, cotton place cards scripted for each guest, and cascading florals. An antiquated record player sounded love songs, and a champagne toast ended the night as those near and dear commemorated the joyous occasion with the newlyweds.
