A little bit boho and a little bit traditional, this PPG Wintergarden wedding is a perfect example of two styles blended seamlessly together. With the help of Wanderlust Weddings and Events, Robbi and Steve designed a day that didn’t look like every other wedding their friends and family have been to, which was their ultimate goal. The unexpected surprises began with the venue. With a greenhouse-like setting, the PPG Wintergarden offers an incredibly unique backdrop to any celebration. And while the couple kept things classic with a black and white palette, assorted pops of color came from whimsical, bohemian floral arrangements from Stems by Syd. Luxurious elements such as gold wax seals on the menu cards and a wedding monogram from Blush Paper Co. were met with contemporary twists, including a dog-inspired cake topper from Tasty Bakery and custom marble printed bars from All Occasions Party Rental. With modern meeting tradition and elegance meeting fun, this wedding celebration was truly the best of both worlds, and it’s all below for your viewing pleasure thanks to Wild Native Photography.
About the Couple
In 2010, Steve and Robbi met in Baltimore when they became neighbors. Robbi was blocking Steve’s car in the shared alleyway because the parking in Baltimore is terrible. He knocked on her door and it was love at first sight. She gave him her number and he called two days later and asked her out on a date! They went to dinner and the rest is history.
The couple moved to Pittsburgh in 2012. When Steve decided it was time to pop the question in 2017, he decided to propose in the alley where the couple first met and then they went to the same restaurant where they had their first date. It was perfect!
About the Wedding
The wedding colors were black, midnight blue, and white with touches of daisy elements for their dog, Daisy! Robbi is a free spirited soul, so her friends say, and she decided she didn’t want her wedding to look like every other wedding she had seen!
Robbi surprised Steve with a cake topper of their dog, Daisy, hand created and painted by Tasty Bakery. All Occasions Party Rental created custom bars to match the marble theme.
Favorite Moment
Our favorite moment of the day was walking down the aisle! The other was waking into the reception and seeing our vision come to life. It was breathtaking. All the planning, organizing, and seeing my husband so blown away was really cool to see and a moment I’ll never forget!
