From the bright pastel color palette and abundance of flowers, to the incredibly sweet moments and heartfelt details, this Energy Innovation Center microwedding is the epitome of beauty! Nate and his bride Miranda, who is the talented floral designer behind Community Flower Shop, finally tied the knot after postponing their wedding four times thanks to COVID with a 25-guest ceremony overlooking the city skyline. Not only did Miranda and Nate enlist the help of an all-star wedding team, including Wanderlust Weddings and Events, EF Lighting, Purple Wagon Designs, Blanc de Blanc Bridal, and JL Makeup Studio & Beauty Boutique, but being a wedding florist herself, you know Miranda had flowers that were out of this world! Just WAIT until you see that ceremony arch (insert allllll the heart eyes here)! Her design stemmed (no pun intended) from the perfect garden-inspired napkin she discovered at Lendable Linens. From there, she infused the bold watercolor hues into just about every aspect of the celebration and enough soft texture into the floral arrangements to make any garden bride’s dream come true. Post nuptials, the pair cut their hand-painted floral wedding cake crafted by Tasty Bakery before parting ways with their guests and spending the evening just the two of them, taking more stunning photos with Dawn Derbyshire Photography, embracing one another for a first dance, and eating Olive Garden (their favorite!) under the stunning lit-up floral arch. The whole day is SO incredibly romantic in every sense of the word.

About the Couple
Nate and I have been together for over 10 years! We started dating while I was a senior in high school and Nate messaged me on Facebook. We got engaged on Sweetest Day 2017 after a nice dinner at The Commoner and drinks at the rooftop biergarten of Hotel Monaco. We got married on our 10-year anniversary – March 12, 2021, our fourth postponed wedding date due to COVID.

About the Wedding
From the very start of planning, I couldn’t stop thinking about a watercolor floral theme for the wedding. I found the Judy’s Garden napkins from Lendable Linens after a long search and used them to come up with a design plan. I wanted as much color as possible and went with a “bright pastel” palette, as I like to call it. I also wanted everyone at the wedding to be amazed by the flowers; I am a florist after all! Patrick and Olivia, my colleagues at Community Flower Shop, truly outdid themselves, surprising me with the most stunning, absolute showstopper of an arch that I have ever seen!
Of course, our wedding day did not go as planned so we had to do things a little differently. We got married in a small ceremony with just 25 people. My best friend’s dad (who is like family to me) walked me down the aisle and was also our officiant. After the ceremony, we cut our cake and sent everyone on their way. We went to take more photos, ate Olive Garden (our favorite restaurant) just the two of us under our beautiful arch, and had our first dance.
Both Nate and I lost our grandmothers while we were planning our weddings, so it was really important to us to infuse as much of their spirits into the day as possible. I ordered a lot of flowers that reminded us of them – lilac for both of our grandmas, ivy covers Nate’s grandma’s front yard (a house we now live in!), Constance garden roses (my Grammy’s name), and Birds of Paradise (my grammy’s favorite flower). I, of course, included a bunch of my favorites as well!

Favorite Moment
My favorite part of the day was the actual ceremony itself. It was so beautiful and meaningful! Also, sitting under our arch at night, all lit up, was like we were on The Bachelor and definitely deserves an honorable mention!
