Eucalyptus and votive candles set the tone for Kevin and Kory’s winter wedding at Omni Bedford Springs, blending simplicity with inspiration from the venue’s ornate details. Captured by Kristy Lumsden Photography, the couple shared a first look outdoors, strolling the property under clear umbrellas. Floral arrangements by Daniel Vaughn Designs focused on lush greenery and eucalyptus, while bouquets featured deep burgundy and orange flowers for a moody accent of color. The couple shared that their florist inspired their minimalist approach, making votive candles a centerpiece – evoking the iconic Friends scene where Monica proposes to Chandler. As they joined hands at the altar, candles glowed softly from the windowsill ledge for a romantic atmosphere. With music by the Rockville Strings duo during the processional and cocktail hour, the ambiance boasted an elegant charm. The event was seamlessly organized by Perfect Timing Event Planning, along with the venue’s wedding planner, and each moment, up to the sparkler exit, felt infused with joyful winter energy.
About the Couple
Kevin and Kory were engaged during a cozy evening at home, building gingerbread houses together. The couple, who met through a mutual friend in Harrisburg, began dating soon after they connected. Seven years later, Kory proposed, cleverly hiding the ring among the icing and candies on his gingerbread creation. He had hoped to surprise Kevin during their “big reveal.” Kevin, naturally coy, pretended not to notice at first, waiting until Kory gathered the courage to ask the question out loud. They enjoyed a relaxed engagement, planning their wedding seven years after that sweet, candy-filled evening.

The wedding ceremony was crisp and clean, featuring plenty of votive candles, greenery, and eucalyptus. Our florist suggested this idea, inspired by the famous Friends scene where Monica proposes to Chandler. It was simple yet beautiful. The venue itself is quite ornate, so we wanted to add our own touch without overcrowding the space. The reception was a celebration of all our friends and family who helped guide our relationship to this pivotal moment, held just one floor below in the Colonnade Ballroom. We loved having all our friends and family together in one hotel.

We both unanimously thought of our vows. It was such a special moment to stand before all our friends and family and express our love for each other. Although we both hate public speaking, this was different. We laughed, we cried, and we unintentionally had very similar themes, yet each vow was special and unique in its own voice. The moment was perfect.
