Classic black and white will never go out of style, and this striped wedding at The Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh from Kristen Wynn Photography is the epitome of modern elegance. Choosing a classic color palette of blush and gold, accented with black and white stripes (the bride’s favorite!), Liza and Bryan crafted the wedding of their dreams. From the stunning Justin Alexander lace gown and black, open-back bridesmaid dresses, both from Bridal Beginning, to the lush floral design and endless personal touches, this wedding has inspiration at every turn. And with a Pittsburgh cookie table made up of over 2,000 cookies (all made by family and friends, no less!), this reception is both gorgeous AND delicious I shouldn’t choose favorites, but an appearance from their puppy, Wally, after the ceremony is mayyybe the cutest thing, ever. A stunning bride + groom, pink, black and white details, and a Bernedoodle in a tux?! Heck, yes! Plus, it’s like it was just meant to be featured on Burgh Brides, don’t you think?!
About the Couple
We met mutually through friends, kind of like a blind date! Our first date was actually at Applebee’s (my frantic choice). Once we knew we liked each other, Bryan planned a more official date at Six Penn Kitchen, where we made a point to take pictures on our wedding day!
Bryan proposed in our home a few weeks before Christmas, leading me on a path of pictures and memories to him in front of the Christmas tree on one knee. We got married almost a year later.
About the Wedding
We wanted it to be formal, simple with unique touches, and personalized to us as a couple. The colors were gold and blush, with black and white stripe accents! I have a slight obsession with stripes, putting them wherever possible in our home. It was a no-brainer when I wanted to do something a little different that it would be stripes! Aside from having striped table cloths on display tables, cake table, and napkins, the guys wore striped socks and pocket squares, and the groom had striped cuff links. The bridesmaids had the most beautiful but simple long sleeve black dresses with an open back. My gift to them was Rachel Roy earrings they wore and wristlets with black and white stripe lining! Our dog Wally, a sweet Bernedoodle, not only made an appearance at the church for pictures but the signature drink was named after him too! It made us so happy to hear someone go to the bar and order a Wally!
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment was when we were in the church and took a moment to look out to everyone that was there just for us. t was so humbling to see so much love and support surrounding us on one of the most important days of our lives!
