Today’s wedding at the Omni William Penn Hotel is living proof that burgundy and ballrooms go together beautifully. Since the opulent space of this Pittsburgh wedding venue doesn’t need much to be wedding-ready, Jordan and Robby kept their look clean and chic with a palette of ivory and gold. The rich, romantic red hue was introduced in subtle bursts, such as the bridesmaids dresses and a hand-painted wedding cake from Cakes by Colby that is downright striking! Tables covered in textured linens from Lendable Linens in neutral tones were made complete by monochromatic floral arrangements. An acrylic sign seating chart and acrylic table numbers added a trendy touch to the big day details, which were expertly overseen by Shayla Hawkins Events. Dressed in a Tara LaTour gown from Bridal Beginning, Jordan looks like a dead ringer for Blake Lively too! Take a peek at these images from Leeann Marie Photography and this video from Jeremy Scott Films and see if you don’t agree!
About the Couple
We grew up together and hung out with the same group of friends. We met in elementary school and started dating in middle school, again in junior high, and again in high school.
Robby asked me to go on a double date with his sister to Phipps Conservatory during the Christmas season. As we walked through the displays, Jill was nowhere to be found and I was oblivious, joking about the scientific names of the flowers surrounding us. We were in front of the poinsettia room when Robby asked for a picture from a stranger and got down on one knee to ask me to marry him. Luckily, the stranger happened to snap some great photos and take a video! I said yes! We walked through the rest of the displays and outside, where we were greeted by both of our families – about 30 people! Robby had coordinated the entire night with help from the staff at Phipps. After the proposal, we had everyone back to see our new Shadyside condo and celebrated with Aiello’s pizza. It was perfect!
About the Wedding
It was classic, timeless, and romantic. I envisioned lots of candlelight and detailed linens in the grand ballroom of the Omni with soft gold tones and ivory flowers with hints of burgundy and lots of greenery.
