We can’t get enough of Hallie and Ryan’s downtown Pittsburgh engagement session that intertwines their love story with a place that holds a special significance. Their time at the University of Pittsburgh and their magical proposal in Schenley Park inspired the location of their light-hearted shoot. From strolling through familiar streets to embracing the city’s iconic skyline from the rooftop garage, the connection and playfulness between the two shined. With their upcoming wedding planned at the Oakmont Country Club, Hallie and Ryan wanted their outfits to reflect the timeless elegance that would grace their wedding day. Ryan, epitomizing sophistication, donned a classic suit, while Hallie radiated grace and style in a sleek mini dress adorned with a classic bow. Be they black and white or color-filled, these portraits beautifully captured by Margaret James Photography are surely vibrant with love!

About the Couple
Ryan and Hallie met at the University of Pittsburgh in early spring of 2018. They both played varsity sports in college, with Ryan playing football and Hallie gymnastics. Four and a half years later on October 8, 2022, Ryan proposed in Schenley Park. Ryan surprised Hallie with a custom lock to put on the bridge with their engagement date. Ryan had all of their friends and family fly in from out of town for a surprise engagement party after proposing.

About the Session
Hallie and Ryan chose a city engagement session because Pittsburgh is the place they met and fell in love and it’s the place where they plan to lay down their roots. Their wedding vision is timeless and elegant, so they wanted their outfits for their engagement session to also reflect that. This meant a timeless suit for Ryan and a sleek mini dress with a classic bow for Hallie to pull everything together.
