Looking for a cute way to celebrate the bride-to-be? Look no further than this picnic themed bridal shower! Classic plaid patterns, boxed lunches, and soft seating greeted guests at the shiplap-covered cottage of Sapphire & Lace Design. The team worked hard to create a comfy, cozy atmosphere that mimicked eating in a park on a sunny day. A wooden farm table from Eventioneers was adorned with hand-drawn floral decals from Oh Joyful Day, who also designed the fete’s other paper pieces. After dining on sammies, soda, and even cherry pie, the guest of honor, Sophie, and her closest ladies gathered round for games and gifts. Of course, there was no better seat in the house than the bride’s pink velvet antique chair, provided by Vintage Alley Rentals. Before leaving, guests were treated to seed packets, the most perfect favor for an event hosted by florists. These images from Dawn Derbyshire Photography are proof that this darling cottage is the perfect Pittsburgh bridal shower venue for intimate affairs and small soirees, including this one!
About the Shower
We are excited to share our idea for a Bridal Shower Picnic at the Sapphire & Lace Cottage! Our goal was to create a laid back, casual atmosphere where the bride and her closest family and friends could enjoy a one-of-a-kind bridal shower at the cottage. When guests arrived, they gathered around a big beautiful farmhouse table from Eventioneers for a casual lunch which consisted of a boxed lunch of a sandwich, fruit cup, and cherry hand pie wrapped in baker’s twine for dessert. Each lunch was personalized with the guest’s name, as well as a soda tied with a pretty paper straw for their enjoyment. Little seed packets were also at each place setting and were the favors that guests could take home and plant in their gardens. The farmhouse table was adorned with small vases of pretty florals, but the unique part was the vinyl floral stickers designed and applied by Oh Joyful Day. It gave the table so much fun detail! Pillows and blankets were popping out of straw baskets and set up on the floor to promote the relaxing and lounging that makes picnicking so great! When it was time to open gifts, the bride sat in an adorable pink vintage chair while guests gathered around her on a soft seating lounge or on the floor amongst the pillows and blankets – so cozy! The bride-to-be, Sophie, looked adorable in her eyelet dress and special floral crown we made her for the occasion. Guests sipped their sodas and played a fun little game of Bride or Groom, which got everyone laughing. The playing cards coordinated with Sophie’s invitations and featured a watercolor or the classic red check plaid picnic table print, all done by Oh Joyful Day. Since the cottage is an intimate setting for up to 25 people, the focus can really be on the details to make it a very memorable summer afternoon.
Wonderful picnic ideas for a shower, where can I order the boxes they used for the lunch?
