Kristen and Steven threw down the style gauntlet with their fabulous Aspinwall wedding that is bound to make your jaw drop. We’re seriously dead over this one. DEAD, WE TELL YOU! We’re all about dramatic wedding color palettes that keep guests guessing and this feature will make you see why. Black, dark purple, and deep magenta looked striking when paired with gold and white in the industrial setting of Riverfront Weddings. At the dockside ceremony facing the Allegheny River, Kristin walked down the aisle wearing an Allure Bridals wedding dress from Bridal Beginning with hair and makeup by Glam to Go. The reception space was totally transformed with a little help from All Occasions Party Rental and Marbella Event Furniture & Decor Rental. These sister companies brought in metallic trim tables, onyx chairs, marble place settings, hammered flatware, and boxwood décor. An array of custom printed pieces – including the bar, DJ booth, lighting fixtures, and table tops – featured floral elements inspired by the day’s color scheme. The result was a mix of sleek and modern design with glamorous luxury. We can’t think of anyone better to capture this couture day than Leeann Marie Photography and Post Script Films. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be staring at this footage all.day.long.
About the Couple
Both from our crazy lives are spent working on everyone else’s dream events! Steve has worked for All Occasions for over 18 years and I have worked there for 14.
Steve and I went to Aruba with my parents and cousins. He made plans for a private cabana dinner on a quite beach overlooking a gorgeous sunset. The problem is that he told me he was making the reservations prior to our departure, and he actually had me make the reservation and send in his credit card info. I started wondering immediately if he was going to propose, so I just came out and asked him! Of course, he said no and questioned me on why he would do it down in Aruba while my family was there. It put me at ease a bit so I stopped obsessing about it. But it was his plan all along! My parents and cousins were aware of the plan, so they were eagerly anticipating our return from dinner to hear the news. It was definitely an unforgettable experience!
About the Wedding
We wanted a location that meant something to us as a couple. We felt that the marina was perfect as the two of us spend so much time together on our boat! The venue was selected for it’s open air feel and flexibility for indoor use, as well as a blank slate for us to incorporate the gorgeous Marbella rental items.
I was inspired to do my wedding decor different from any others since I see so much of the same thing. The dark, dramatic floral inspiration was due to the current trends but we knew we could do it in a very unique way. I wanted a dramatic look in a casual light environment! Others gravitate toward white and ivory for a wedding but I wanted drama!
So much of the blank slate was transformed using custom printing unlike anyone has ever seen! The custom printed dance floor, DJ area, aisle runners, bars, and printed table tops were created by Whitney Kevech, creative director for Marbella Event Furniture and Decor Rental. The family style dining was served on metallic stainless, gold, glass, and acrylic tables that you do not see at a typical wedding.
