Neutrals are never boring and this clean wedding inspired styled shoot is photographic proof! Pittsburgh wedding planner and style guru Soiree by Souleret gave life to an unassuming color palette of white, black, and gray through the use of texture and visual interest. With its open air setting and whitewashed walls, Riverfront Weddings was the perfect blank slate venue for this crisp look. An elongated tablescape featured romantic taper candles in glass hurricanes, the most summery of linens from Mosaic, and tassled, personalized menu cards from K. Flowers Designs. Pebbled dishware, modern black flatware, and crystal clear chairs, all from All Occasions Party Rental, completed the fresh place settings. The show-stopper, however, was the elevated arrangement made by The Blue Daisy Floral Designs, complete with lush white roses and dripping greenery. Glowing makeup from See Jane Blush and a Luxe Redux Bridal ballgown with organza sleeves rounded out this effortlessly beautiful style, which was captured by Levana Melamed Photography. While these images might be completely swoon-worthy, the best part about this styled shoot is that each vendor provided cost estimates. Read on for more about this editorial and what it might take to recreate it for your big day!
About the Shoot
Light, airy, and on the water! It was such a pleasure to work with Levana Melamed Photography and Riverfront Weddings on this editorial. Our inspiration emerged from the airy-ness of the venue and a crisp white palette. Black and grey details provided a modern touch in place settings, stationery, and a stand-out cake. Overall, we wanted a classic look with modern touches! And design wasn’t the only thing we thought about for this shoot. We aimed to educate readers on the cost of replicating this look for their own wedding day. Read on for a breakdown of costs in every category!
Weddings Rings
Diamonds and goodness all rolled into one! The mission of Gardens of the Sun’s owner and designer is to help indigenous people become a part of the global economy. She personally meets every person in her supply chain. Alluvial gold is extracted from artisanal female miners, who are paid directly. On top of that, one tree is planted for every purchase made. Imagine finding the dream ring for your loved one and feeling great about your purchase’s impact! Diamond rings start at just over $600.
Location
This beautiful editorial was held at Riverfront Weddings, a wedding venue in Aspinwall with a gorgeous view and a seated capacity of up to 250 guests. All of this beauty comes at an approachable price, starting at $3,000 and including chairs, tables, and linens. JPC Event Group is the exclusive caterer to the venue, and they provide exceptional farm-to-table menus with fresh, artisanal cuisines. As an added bonus, their food displays are always creative works of art! With packages starting at $57 per person plus tax and fees, you’re sure to create a menu that is both delicious and beautiful.
Linens
Linens provide the primary building block for your event design, so I love the vast selection that Mosaic offers clients. I often refer to their showroom as a “linen playground” where clients can test options to kick start their overall design. For this editorial, I chose a textured white Panama linen ($75) for the dinner table, accompanied by white hemstitch napkins ($2.25 each). The cake table features the white lace floral overlay ($65) and white polyester under cloth ($12). Although subtle, the overall look is crisp and striking.
Photography
Where would we be without the woman who captured it all so beautifully- Levana of Levana Melamed Photography! Meet with her and you’ll find that her kindness and demeanor will provide a sense of comfort and calm! Her 8-hour wedding day packages begin at $4,500.
Wedding Flowers
The overall look of this summer shoot is the essence of the design style at The Blue Daisy Floral Designs: clean, classic, and elegant. Owner Stephanie enjoyed creating this large scale elevated centerpiece using foam-free techniques and water-filled Garnier vases to not only provide weight but to also add fun, visual interest with the distortion of the negative space. They added twisted taper candles for an unexpected eye-level detail. Love this elaborate overhanging design? Expect the head table with installation to be $3,500. The bridal bouquet will clock in at $350 and the boutonniere at $20.
Stationery
One-of-a-kind. Stylish. Bold. These are just a few of the words that come to mind while viewing the work of K. Flowers Designs. When you meet Kerry, you’ll be even more impressed with her bubbly and loving persona and innovative ideas that reflect each couple’s love story. I actually jumped up and down and clapped when I saw this completed suite. Tassels. Vellum. Velvet. Textured foil. There are so many of my favorite features in one design. She nailed it! If you love this look for your own wedding day, here’s what you can expect – 100 invitation sets with a luxurious black velvet pocket with laser cut details, two inserts, foil-stamped and blind-embossed invitation card, RSVP envelopes, and outer envelopes. This suite also comes fully assembled with stamps and each guest’s name on the outer envelope for a grand total of $3,250. Each menu card is double-layered with a vellum overlay and pearlized onyx card, with silky tassels and personalized with each guest’s name (100 for $700).
Wedding Makeup
Mia shines on her own, but I knew just the right person to enhance her natural beauty. Meet Clare from See Jane Blush! We chose to leave Mia’s hair natural and untouched. Those curls are to die for! But Clare paired her quintessential dewey skin look with a smokey eye. The results were stunning! Want to book Clare for your special day? Makeup applications are $100 for the bride(s) and $85 for each member of your party.
Cake
You can identify the work of Alexa Robba by delicate sugar flowers that look too real to eat. And if you ever have the chance to taste his creations, I can promise that you’ll fall in love! Chocolate toffee and lavender lemon are just a few flavors that I’ve been able to sample myself, and as a sweets connoisseur, I can say they were IN-CRED-I-BLE! Alex’s cakes are often created with a four-day process. For our faux cake needs, he spent TWO WEEKS working on the sugar details. Want him to replicate this beauty for your own day? Estimate $20 per serving. Envision something else? Contact him! His decorated cakes range from $6-18 per serving.
Wedding Dress
Want a designer gown without the designer price tag? We love Luxe Redux Bridal! Their Pittsburgh showroom is located in Lawrenceville. Can’t make it into the showroom? With their Luxe in a Box service, you can try on three dresses at home for just $49. Mia’s airy floral Hayley Paige gown is fit for dock-side nuptials. You can find gowns at Luxe Redux starting at just $600, with designers like Hayley Paige starting at $2,690 (a fraction of their retail price).
Rentals
The options are seemingly endless at All Occasions Party Rental. From traditional gold flatware and gold-rimmed plates to the modern matte black flatware and speckled grey dinner plates, this rental design house has all the pieces available to construct a chic bespoke look for its clients. The place setting above features Arezzo black flatware ($1.29 each), Heirloom smoke dishes ($0.99 each), Marble salad dishes ($1.49 each), and Pure glassware ($1.64 each). Our design also includes clear Claire chairs ($4.95 each).
Bridal Shoes
What bride doesn’t love Bella Belle shoes?! These handmade floral beauties typically retail for $295, but I snagged this pair at Nordstrom on sale for under $100.
