A true reflection of Channing and Jarod’s love story, their engagement session in Beaver was set against a vibrant backdrop of fall foliage and made even more meaningful with the presence of their children and two beloved Mastiffs. Captured by E&J Photographers, the session unfolded as a warm, candid glimpse into their life together. The photography team described the collection as “filled with genuine love, joy, and the warmth of family.” Colorful leaves blanketed the grass as the couple strolled through their own autumn wonderland. Dressed in cozy cable-knit sweaters and classic flannel, they embraced the laid-back charm of the season, creating an engagement shoot that felt both intimate and inviting.
About the Couple
Jarod met Channing in his hometown at the bar where she worked. He still remembers how she caught his eye the first time he saw her. At the time, Jarod’s job had him traveling across the country, and he knew he’d be leaving town again soon. They shared a brief interaction that night and then didn’t see each other again until years later, when Jarod returned home for Christmas.
Thanks to one of Channing’s coworkers, who let Jarod know Channing was interested in him, a date was set for the day before New Year’s Eve. The two had a great time that evening and managed to see each other once more before Jarod had to leave again.
From that night on, Jarod began visiting Channing every weekend. He’d drive back to Detroit early Monday morning, noting, “I realized how much I was falling for her because this was very easy for me to do. Because it was for her.”
As their relationship grew, Jarod found a work opportunity that allowed him to relocate back to western Pennsylvania. He knew early on that Channing was the one. “I told my family three months in that I was going to marry her. I told Channing that too – half joking, since we’d only been together a short time,” he explained.
Jarod also knew how important it was to Channing that he ask both of her parents for their blessing. “It was great to have her family involved and giving so much support,” he said. Jarod proposed one evening after dinner, on the top deck of a cruise ship, with her family present.

For their engagement session, Jarod and Channing wanted nothing more than to embrace the vibrant colors of fall. Serendipitously, the spot we chose in Beaver was in full autumnal glory. Including their two children and their lovable Mastiffs, Moose and Mia, added an authentic, homey feel to the session. The result was a collection of candid, lifestyle images filled with genuine love, joy, and the warmth of family – a true reflection of who they are as a couple.
