If classic celebrations inspire you, then the elegant extras of Lindsay and Zac’s Valley Brook Country Club wedding are going to make your heart sing! The ladies spent the morning getting pampered by the Glam to Go team before slipping into their mist colored bridesmaids dresses, which complemented the guys’ navy blue tuxedos. That was just the beginning of the understated details that were to come! The beautiful drapery by ILLUME Lighting & Event Design gave the ceremony room a light, clean, romantic feel. Clear chiavari chairs and elevated lush greens designed by Blossoms by Jilliann lined the aisle of the ceremony, which was officiated by Zac’s uncle, making it all that much more special! The vibe was simple, sweet, and tasteful, which carried into the reception design too. They played up the gold tones of the space with embroidered linens courtesy of Lendable Linens along with other gold accents and greenery. Thanks to Bethel Bakery and Oakmont Bakery, delicious cake and goodies were enjoyed by all, followed by lots of dancing. Every inch of this wedding is infused with such timelessness. Steven Dray Photography knew just how to preserve the memories of it all in these photos. Prepare yourself to ooh and aww over each one!

About the Couple
Zac and I met in the winter of 2014. We went to the same undergrad university. However, we only had mutual acquaintances and never formally met until we both moved back home to Pittsburgh after graduation. As fate would have it, we ran into each other on the legendary 3rd floor of Mario’s in the South Side. What was meant to be a few minutes of catching up on each other’s lives since graduating quickly turned into a much longer conversation during which sparks flew. It was only a matter of time until the two of us went on our first date.
I was finishing my doctorate and was fortunate enough to have a clinical rotation back home in Pittsburgh. Zac had planned a night out at one of our favorite restaurants, Alla Famiglia, to celebrate me being home for the semester. Little did I know, it was actually to celebrate what would turn into the night he proposed!
Two of our best friends were over visiting that day, and although I thought it was a little odd they were sticking around until dinner, I didn’t think anything else of it. Before we left, I had asked them to take a picture of us. After a few photos, I began to walk away as Zac pulled me back towards him. He was already down on one knee! They captured the whole thing on video and on a GoPro hidden in the room!
As if I wasn’t already on cloud nine, Zac had planned an intimate surprise party for after we returned home from dinner. When we turned the lights on, the room was full of all of our close family and friends!

About the Wedding
We wanted to create a timeless, white monochromatic look. Because the ballroom of Valley Brook Country Club has a ton of gold tones, we decided to incorporate gold accents as well. From there, it all fell into place as we added elegant rentals, light and airy drapery, crisp linens, gold and acrylic decor, and lush florals! We have always loved the feeling of having both indoor and outdoor components to a wedding venue and Valley Brook fit that beautifully! The entire event came together perfectly!

Favorite Moment
If I had to pick, I would say walking down the aisle was undoubtedly my favorite. There was such a magical connection between Zac and me as we made eye contact as I walked toward him. Knowing this was just the beginning of our happily ever after – with so much love from our family and friends surrounding us – was such an amazing feeling! Another favorite part of our wedding day was that we had Zac’s uncle, who is a pastor in Michigan, marry us. He wrote a beautiful ceremony that truly made the experience very personal and intimate. That will forever be an extremely special memory!
