Elegance and chic city class were the names of the game for this wedding at Hotel Monaco. Jamie loves a clean, sophisticated look and she let that style be her muse for her and Jake’s celebration. Tons of greenery, along with ranunculus, roses, hydrangeas, and zinnia – all in shades of white – brought a fresh touch of nature to the modern vibes of the venue and complimented its unique decor. While Jamie’s look was traditionally bridal with a gorgeous lace Pronovias wedding gown from Bridal Beginning, Jake’s attire offered a surprise twist. His custom suit from Surmesur Custom Menswear featured a floral print suit jacket lining and tie. Together, they were the quintessential couple wildly in love. Palermo Photo captured this pair as they celebrated their union and the results are oh-so-romantic. Just see for yourself!
About the Couple
Jake and I met in 2011 when we were lifeguards at the South Park Wave Pool. We were friends for two years before we began dating. The beginning of our relationship was so easy and fun because we were already best friends. Jake is two years younger than me, so he was still in undergrad and I was in graduate school. In 2015 when Jake graduated college, he got a prestigious job working for PPG. This required him to relocate to Columbus, OH. He lived there for one year and I drove there on the weekends to spend time with him. Jake then was relocated to Lake Charles, LA and we maintained a long distance relationship for two years.
Jake proposed to me when I came down to Louisiana to spend Thanksgiving with him in 2017. He picked me up from the Lake Charles airport, and popped the question right outside of the airport. It was a TOTAL surprise! It was the perfect moment for just the two of us.
About the Wedding
We wanted the wedding to be very elegant and classy. I love the idea of things looking clean and simple but still elegant. We love the look of white and gold and wanted there to be minimal colors due to the unique decor of our venue. I knew I wanted the flowers to be white with a lot of greenery. We LOVE the look of Hotel Monaco and wanted to incorporate as many elements of it as possible. The Emperor Suite at the hotel incorporated all of the elements we were looking for, and the pictures of the bridal party getting ready are some of my favorites!
Favorite Moment
The first look! It was so suspenseful and fun and it was nice to have that moment together before the craziness of the day officially began. Running around and taking pictures on the city streets was so fun and witnesses yelled congratulations or cheered as we went by! I also loved the first look because it wasn’t just a surprise for Jake. I also got to be surprised seeing him for the first time in his custom tuxedo that I know he was so excited to wear and show off!
A close second favorite moment of the day was when the doors opened to the ceremony and EVERYONE I know and love was looking back and staring at me. It was a surreal moment as I walked down the aisle and smiled at family and friends. It really made me realize that all the hard work and chaos of wedding planning was well worth it!
