This Christmas engagement session is showing off Pittsburgh’s festive side! The ice rink at PPG Place made for the perfect engagement photo location for Danielle and Dan, who are both skaters. It was here that they – along with Kaitlin Powell Photography – put on their warmest winter gear, laced up their skates, and took a few laps around the brightly lit Christmas tree. The twinkling backdrop and chilly vibes are sure to put you in the holiday spirit. Afterwards, they headed to Market Square, where they traipsed around the holiday market, checking out the booths, snuggling, holding hands, and being absolutely adorable in the process. The pair also took in some other downtown Pittsburgh holiday decor, including some fresh evergreen wreaths on red doors and signs outside of Heinz Hall. This session is comfy, cozy, and sure to make you want to deck the halls!

About the Couple

We met for our first date on April 7, 2019 for a Pirates game.. Throughout the years, we have enjoyed traveling and making memories together. Some of our favorite trips included: Iceland, where we hiked up Glymur, Iceland’s 2nd highest waterfall; Denver, where we skied the back bowls of Vail; Orlando, where we got to play Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Golf Course, and Tallahassee, where Danielle got to experience Momo’s Pizza with slices as big as your face. Remembering the first date, Dan proposed by placing the ring on a custom wooden dart created by Danielle’s brother, Dave. When Dan asked Danielle to play a game of darts, she saw the ring. He got down on one knee and popped the question.

About the Session

For our engagement session we wanted to showcase our fun personalities in Pittsburgh and we wanted our photos to represent the city. Danielle had the great idea to go ice skating at PPG Place, where we got to showcase our love for sports and our fun, active lifestyles.
