This charming rustic wedding day is a woodsy fairy tale lover’s dream come true. It flawlessly combines boho vibes with natural elements and uniquely mixes earth tones with subtle pops of pink . The simplistic yet breathtaking beauty of the venue set the perfect scene for Kellie and Brian’s big day. After the couple said I do in the the historic, barn-like chapel of the Oak Lodge, they celebrated with friends and family with dinner in the Mercantile Hall. Whimsical floral chandeliers hung overhead, deer antlers and greenery runners adorned long tables, and moss-filled bronze lanterns greeted guests. The party closed out with al fresco dancing under the stars and a canopy of bistro lights. Wooden signs, fun koozies and cups for party goers, and even a custom first dance song written just for the bride and groom by The Acoustic Crooner rounded out the personalized details of this soiree. A tiny dose of Hollywood glamour came in the form of Kellie’s STUNNING wedding dress. The all-satin mermaid shaped gown fit.this.girl.like.a.glove and I’m all kinds of envious. Kellie accessorized with a beaded belt and simple tulle veil to create the most epic bridal look everrrr. Actually, who am I kidding….this entire wedding is one of my new favorites. Once you see the footage from All Heart Photo & Video, I’m sure it will be one of yours too.
I’m also totally obsessed with the moving footage, also captured by All Heart Photo & Video! Keren captured SO many amazing moments! If you’re anything like me, you’ll get all teary eyed too. AND there were some INCREDIBLE moves on that dance floor!!!
From the bride…
Tell me about yourselves! When and how did you meet? How long have you been together? How did you get engaged? All the juicy details!
Believe it or not, Brian and I met on Tinder! Yes, Tinder! Typically, I would let the guy start the conservation, but I felt something different with this guy. So, I took the ultimate leap of faith and reached out to Brian first with a simple: “Hi there. How was your weekend?”. He responded rather quickly with “Great, I just got back from a long weekend in Nashville”. I thought someone was playing a trick on me, as I had just gotten back from a bachelorette weekend in Nashville too. We shared our crazy stories and exchanged pictures about our Nashville trips – swearing we saw each other. We were in all the same honky tonks all weekend! We decided to meet up at Rumfish Grille in Bridgeville for a casual night of drinks and appetizers. Naturally, I told all my girlfriends: “If you don’t hear from me by 11 p.m., come find me!” But, I went beer for beer with Brian all evening. We ended up completely hitting it off, and the rest is history!
We often spend our summer weekends at Brian’s family lake house at Raystown Lake. One morning, he asked me to go with him to get the boat uncovered and to get gas for that day’s adventures. Mind you, I had not even showered or brushed my teeth, yet. But I went with Brian and our two dogs anyways. He took a quick ride to one of the most gorgeous spots on the lake where he asked me to marry him! I was the happiest girl in the world!
Describe the wedding and what inspired it. What was unique about it?
Oak Lodge is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever been too. It’s an 800-acre bed and breakfast located in the Laurel Highlands. The breathtaking, simplistic beauty of this venue truly just speaks for itself. The Oak Lodge Village inspired me to have a rustic-meets-whimsical wedding day. I wanted pretty florals, moss, deer antlers, eucalyptus, and flowers strung from chandeliers; I got that and so much more.
What was your favorite moment of the day?
When I married my best friend!
Is there any advice you would give to other couples planning their big day?
Enjoy the ride!
