Who knew that a chance encounter at a Penguins game would eventually lead to a magically unique wedding at Williams Golf & Country Club? Justin and Lauren went to the same college but it wasn’t until they were both sitting in the same section of a Pens game that they really hit it off. It was on the exact same day two years later that Justin proposed…after a Pens game, of course. Even on their wedding day, they had to incorporate a little love for the home team. Just wait until you see their coordinating Penguins jackets! And while you’re at it, you might want to keep an eye out for some of the other jaw-dropping details as well. To begin, Lauren looked like a boho dream dressed in a BHLDN wedding dress featuring delicate beading, a V neck, and flowy skirt with a soft braided updo and makeup by Glam to Go. Thanks to tall pampas grass, tall glass candleholder centerpieces, geometric floral arrangements from Armful of Flowers, and pops of dramatic navy blue, the pair brought elements of funky glam to the otherwise traditional wedding venue. A golden hoop adorned with fresh greenery dressed up their cake from FERRO Collections while airy fabric draped the sweetheart table and the floor around it, giving off swoon-worthy vibes. Modern and moody yet classic with fun twists (like a wedding party intros set to the Chicago Bulls entrance song), this wedding is certainly going to be a crowd favorite. About the Couple
We met previously at Allegheny College. However, we were re-introduced to each other after sitting in the same section at a Pittsburgh Penguins game in December 2016. The Penguins were playing the Boston Bruins, and I had just moved back to Pittsburgh after completing a travel nursing assignment in Boston. Following the game, Justin’s friend arranged a meet-up at Bigham Tavern on Mt. Washington. We hit if off and continued to date afterward.
We were engaged exactly two years later following a Penguins game where the Pens were coincidentally playing the Bruins again. Justin’s brother and sister-in-law helped to arrange a surprise proposal following the game. Afterwards, we returned to Bigham Tavern to celebrate.

About the Wedding
Our wedding featured a lot of greenery and white florals, with touches of mauve and navy. We did feature some Pittsburgh Penguins jackets to pay homage to our meeting and engagement. Our reception entrance and introductions were like the beginning of most sporting events – we played the theme song from Space Jam for our wedding party introductions and “Sirius”, the entrance song for sports teams like the Jazz and the Chicago Bulls, for Justin’s and my introduction.

Favorite Moment
Just being able to celebrate our marriage with family and friends.
Wow, this is exactly what I needed to read! I’ve been struggling with finding the right wedding music, and incorporating live instruments sounds like a fantastic idea. It really adds a personal touch, and I’m sure my guests will love it. Thanks for the great tips
