Filled with soft and simple details, Shayne and Scott’s September wedding at Hartwood Acres embodied such elegance. Their soiree at this well-known Pittsburgh park incorporated blue hues through chiffon bridesmaids dresses from Azazie, linens from Eventioneers, men’s bow ties, and the table decor that paired perfectly with the natural elements of the venue. Following an adorable first look, Shayne and Scott’s day started with a romantic outdoor ceremony where the ladies walked down the aisle carrying lush pink and white wedding bouquets, and it ended with a celebration where guests were greeted with a hand-lettered welcome sign courtesy of Purple Wagon Designs and a beautiful watercolor portrait utilized as a guest book. Like a breath of fresh air, these serene images by North Arrow Photo are sure to be enjoyed!
About the Couple
Scott and Shayne grew up in the same town, but were never friends. One day in 2013, Scott asked Shayne to go for a run because he knew Shayne was an accomplished half marathoner. Little did Shayne know, Scott has asthma and is not a long-distance runner. After many miles and smiles together, Scott bet Shayne that he could beat her in a race. What Scott lacked in stamina, he made up for in top speed. As a reward for his victory, Shayne agreed to go out on a “date” to the movies with Scott. When they arrived at the theater, there were only two seats left…about 15 feet away from each other. Needless to say, they didn’t share popcorn. They have been together ever since!
Shayne and Scott got engaged when they were in two different states on the Mason Dixon Line. Scott was in Pennsylvania and Shayne was in Maryland. It was an 11-mile hike, but very worth it!
About the Wedding
Their wedding date was chosen based on government weather data! Scott is an analyst so he looked at the weather data for the past eleven years so they could pick a Saturday in September with the least chance of rain. Needless to say, he was right! There was not a single rain cloud in sight on their wedding day!
The theme of their wedding was outdoor elegance. After many hours of scouring Pinterest, they decided on gold tones, dusty blues, and ivory for their color scheme. Hartwood Acres set a lovely scene for the couple’s big day, so they wanted to enhance its natural beauty in their selection of decor.
Favorite Moment
Scott’s favorite memory of the day was the first look! He was so excited to see his bride!
Shayne’s favorite memory of the day was watching all of her family and friends gather together to celebrate their marriage.
