First comes love, then come an engagement. After that comes an e-session, of course! With all of the gorgeous weddings featured this year, I haven’t forgotten about the numerous noteworthy engagement features. From urban and very Pittsburgh to casual and downright romantic, all of the engagements were hits with readers but here are my favorites from the past year!
Cait & Josh
No props, no styling, no major wardrobe changes. Just a pond, a beautiful blue sky, and a sea of colorful wildflowers…it didn’t take a lot to make this session special. Sometimes the bells and whistles are nice, but other times, all you need is to let your love be the focus of your photos. And with this session, it’s easy to see how much Cait and Josh totally adore each other.

Shut up. That is literally what I said when I saw these pics for the first time. That wall. Those leaves. That hair. THOSE COLORS! I die every time. If I didn’t already love fall enough, this session totally sealed the deal for me. Nothing beats autumn in Pittsburgh.

This McConnells Mill session was woodsy and whimsical. Erin, in her long, lace white dress looked like a fairy princess frolicking in a magical forest. After traipsing on fallen trees and dipping their toes in the water, the pair climbed behind a waterfall for a super cool perspective.

Any couple who braves a literal snow storm to snap a few pre-wedding photos deserves major props. Lucky for us, their fearlessness led to these incredible images. The weather wasn’t the only unique feature, though. The North Side’s Randyland was the perfect quirky backdrop for this fun session.

Who can forget the first engagement session featured on Burgh Brides? Simple white roses and a gorgeous, glowing sunset were all these photos needed to make them memorable even a year later. Beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe it.
