If you are thinking of popping the question and want to do so in epic fashion, let this styled picnic proposal inspire you! Not every proposal needs to be over the top, but it does need to be as special as the couple it brings together forever. Via this styled shoot, Burgh Brides and Day Of Pittsburgh sought to create one that was unique and declarative but still intimate and romantic. We teamed up with Blanket & Board to curate the sweetest of settings for such a monumental occasion. What started off as a quiet, intimate lunch in the park – complete with charcuterie board, fresh flowers, candles, plush pillows and blankets, and champs, of course – quickly turned into something much more special for Tyelre and Sequoyah. With a pear-shaped diamond engagement ring from Henne Jewelers in hand, Tyelre asked for hers in exchange. There was never a doubt about marrying Tyelre in Sequoyah’s mind, but the thoughtfulness and romance with which this proposal was planned made saying “YES!” even easier!
Every newly engaged coupled deserves to be celebrated, and the second half of this editorial showcases a styled engagement party perfect for toasting to the soon-to-be newlyweds. We envisioned a small soiree with a luxe yet cozy autumnal vibe and a seasonal color palette of terra cotta, burgundy, and desert neutrals. With its exposed brick, wooden floors, and raw grit, Slate was the perfect backdrop. Amber glassware and velvet chairs from Vintage Alley Rentals, hunter green dinnerware, and fresh floral napkin rings from The Blue Daisy Floral Designs provided lively pops of color. In addition to tasseled seating cards from Fresh Cut Prints, our tablescape featured a modern cornucopia centerpiece, also from The Blue Daisy. Fresh gourds, pears, apples, and grapes sat with a basket alongside taper candles, potted greenery, and pretty blooms, infusing a sense of thankfulness and togetherness. It isn’t a Pittsburgh party without burnt almond torte, and a tiered-version of Prantl’s infamous creation sat in front of an artistic hand-dyed backdrop from Fresh Cut Prints. The style didn’t stop there though. Even our couple looked ever the part of a dashing couple in love, with Sequoyah in a polka dot ivory satin midi dress from No. 14 Boutique with hair and makeup by Glam to Go and Tyelre in a bow tie from Knotzland. No ensemble is complete without a little bling bling, however, so Henne Jewelers accessorized with layered necklaces on her and a luxury watch on him. Overall, the aesthetic was warm and rich with carefree bohemian flare sure to get those wheels turning!
