About the Couple
Toni and Josiah attended WVU for grad school and med school, matching on Bumble shortly after graduation. They soon realized they were practically neighbors in Morgantown, making their connection feel even more serendipitous. As fate would have it, they both worked at the same hospital, realizing everything had fallen into place just as it was meant to.

We went on our first date during my first week of work in June 2022. I had just landed what I felt was my dream job at Ruby & Children’s Hospital at WVU and I swore I would never give it up. Little did I know, I was about to meet Josiah.
At the time, he was working at Ruby Hospital for the first year of his residency, with plans to move to Michigan for the next four years. We were both upfront about our job expectations and wanted to let things play out naturally. About six months into dating, we realized our relationship was more serious than we had imagined. We made plans for a long-distance relationship once it was time for Josiah to move. That plan quickly fell apart when I realized Josiah was what made my life and work feel so amazing.
I quit my job and moved to Michigan to be with him. As it turns out, the dream guy outranks the dream job. Spoiler alert – I somehow landed an even better job, all because Josiah encouraged me to set the bar higher. We’re working at the same hospital again, this time at the University of Michigan! Fast forward seven months, and Josiah proposed after dropping some very sweet (but obvious) hints.
