Ask Burgh Brides: Where can I hold a small bridal shower brunch?

For as many websites and vendor listings and pages of a “Pittsburgh bridal shower venue” Google search there are, it's surprisingly difficult to nail down a location to hold this event that honors you.  Especially when you're looking for something very specific, like this month's Ask Burgh Brides submission.

Ask Burgh Brides: Where can I hold my small bridal shower brunch?

Bride T writes…

I'm in dire need of suggestions for bridal shower venues for a small party of about 20 for brunch or appetizers.  Please help!

My pleasure, T!  I myself had a bridal shower brunch and it was lovely.  Mainly because brunch food is delicious and anytime I can drink champagne before noon is a winner in my book.  But I digress.

There are several options for an intimate bridal shower that could accommodate an early morning affair.  My favorites?

  • The Grand Concourse – The River Room provides a beautiful view of Pittsburgh and ummm helllllllooooo have you ever had their freshly-made donuts?!  One word: Amazeballs.  And I'm not even ashamed of using that word because it's appropriate.  TIP: Private brunch rentals are only available on Saturdays!  On Sundays, they feed the masses of Pittsburgh with their epic brunch buffet.
  • PointBreezeway – I've made my love of PointBreezeway very clear.  Small, quaint, and just down right adorable, this urban barn in the heart of Point Breeze will provide a perfectly unique setting for your small shindig.
  • The Johnston Tea House – A tea party bridal shower complete with pretty china, scones, and finger sandwiches…so girly!  Add some lace gloves and a big hat and I'm back in my childhood play room.  Except this time I'm all grown up and people are giving me presents!  It's a darling venue to celebrate a bride-to-be!
  • The Inn on Negley – One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is have lunch at the Inn on Negley.  This luxury B&B in Shadyside can also be rented for showers and and other intimate events.  With its antique furniture and period decor, you'll fall in love with the Victorian charm in no time.

Any other ideas?  If you had a small or a brunch-style bridal shower, where did you hold it?  Comment below and help a fellow Burgh Bride out!

I had a brunch shower at the LeMont with only 25 guests. We picked it because it was central, so none of our north side friends would have to travel too far into the south hills and vice-versa (you know how weird we Pittsburghers can be about river crossing.) The staff there was soooo nice and accommodating. Can’t recommend it enough!
